We've been coming to see Dr. Shamma for the past 3 years, we are now on our second pregnancy. Everyone at the clinic has been kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shamma for your ivf journey. We will continue to come here for any further pregnancies. I also want to say my navigator Edita made this journey so much more seamless and was so patient and understanding with me. She is amazing. Definitely a 5 star experience. Thank you Dr. Shamma for our beautiful baby girls.

I have just started treatment at this clinic. In all honesty, this industry is very difficult to deal with and this clinic is no exception. I am not fully convinced, But I wanted to write a review and a good review because of the quality of their nurse Adita. She’s a very kind and caring person so much so that even though I am not having the most excellent experience, I am happy to write a good review and support an organization that uplifts people like her. She is great, and if you do end up coming here, definitely request her.

Edit; The first time we had IVF treatment with Michigan, everything flowed smoothly and efficiently. Communication was good and more direct. Now that they're with Pinnacle, it's a disaster. We had the initial consultation in April, and they never contacted me again. When I called because it seemed like too long, they said it was a mistake with the text messages, but they didn't bother to send an email, call, or use my other contact numbers. Pinnacle only cares about its own interests and not about patient care. The medical portal is an overloaded and tedious platform to use. Their doctors and nurses aren't the problem, although patients should have more access to direct communication with medical staff. Their system has become far too inefficient. 2024; They always made me feel confident throughout the entire process; the treatment was very humane and empathetic.

I would not recommend. Update: IVFs comment to this review is not accurate as my review is not regarding patient care. My review is a basic non hipaa related post. During my initial consultation, which was a virtual appointment the doctor was over 30 minutes late. A virtual appointment for a very personal situation is not appropriate or professional. I felt as though I was treated as another number walking through the door. When the doctor finally came on the call, he had not reviewed the paperwork and called me someone else's name not even close to my name which gave me the perspective that he had no idea what file he was looking at nor cared. Not impressed at all and would steer away!

Working with this fertility center was incredibly frustrating. Our embryos were in storage in another state. IVF Michigan told me to reach out to storage to have embryos transferred. Storage company said they needed to talk to IVF to transfer. I was the go between person, telling IVF that it was time for them to do their job. Billing and payment was terrible. We were given a quote that included a Livestrong/cancer discount. When IVF Michigan merged with Pinnacle, they restructured and then didn’t give us that discount. This wasn’t explained to us at all and we were just given a new quote. The second quote was more affordable for everyone which was great. Our concern was the lack of communication and transparency. They did give us a small discount and told us that that was the Livestrong discount. The percentage was not the same percent as before and when I asked about it, they told me they don’t work with Livestrong anymore. I didn’t appreciate being deceived and lied to. There were scheduling issues with our gestational carrier being scheduled later in the day when she should have been scheduled earlier in the day. They would ask her last minute to come in earlier and given 2 different stories as to why- baseline bloodwork and to see the doctor (she didn’t get to see him). Our Gestational Carrier shared throughout the process that she was still bleeding. She was told it was fine. By the time she got to the lining check a week before the transfer, the doctor seemed surprised that she was still bleeding and said we needed to start over. We were told that since it’s not a failed cycle, we likely wouldn’t have to pay for a new cycle. Later we were told that we would need to pay for a new cycle. The way payment works is in phases based on where you’re at in the process. So we’d pay upfront for different stages. Not everything was included and we’d need to pay out of pocket for certain things. The day before we were going to start a new cycle, I got a call that they misused the money we gave them for the cycle and put it towards bills that were not included in this “phase” and we owed them thousands of dollars by the next day to continue with the new cycle. We were given a number to text our nurse navigator and financial coordinator. Sometimes it would take days to get a response if they were on vacation. It would be nice to be notified that we wouldn’t get a response the same day if they were out since this process is very time sensitive. Our financial coordinator left the practice and we weren’t told. I texted her and it took a few days for someone else to respond to tell us that she was no longer there. Our first nurse navigator was terrible at communicating with us. She (and many at the clinic) didn’t seem to understand how to work with Intended Parents and a Gestational Carrier. I was not kept in the loop as the Intended Parent. Photos of our embryos were shared in our Gestational Carrier’s portal, but not ours. I would ask for information about how the process worked. I was looking for the clinic’s process and procedure on when medication needed to be taken and what next steps were like. Education and processes were shared at the previous clinic we worked with in Grand Rapids. Instead I received informal texts. When we’re paying so much money for this process, I’m looking for something more formal to give me confidence that they know what they’re doing. There was a lot of confusion when updated calendars weren’t shared on time. The doctor told us one date for a transfer and our nurse navigator told us another date. Our gestational carrier would use their Macomb office for blood work and lining checks. Updated calendars were not shared with that team. They would tell our Gestational Carrier that they didn’t know what she was there for. Communication did improve when we were assigned a new Nurse Navigator, Annalise. We felt more supported and heard. In the end, we did have a successful cycle and are expecting. If I could do it again though, I would go to another clinic.

While our outcome has not been what we hoped for yet, we are moving forward with IVF feeling hopeful and supported. The text messaging system is fantastic responses are always quick and helpful. The Executive Director, as someone else have mentioned, is amazing. She helped me feel more comfortable with a decision she listened provided guidance and also quickly connected us with support from our financial counselor when we needed it. Dr. Star is ABSOLUTELY wonderful. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly has her patients best interests at heart. You can tell she is passionate about what she does. I know we are in the very best hands! We are excited to move into this next chapter with such a caring team beside us.

We are so thankful to Dr. Shamma and the entire team for helping us through this journey. We were very lucky to have success after just one stimulation cycle and one embryo transfer, and we truly appreciate all the care and support we received along the way. Everyone at the clinic was incredibly kind, patient, and caring. Whenever I had questions or concerns, the team always responded quickly and helped me feel reassured. The journey can be stressful and emotional, but they made the whole process feel much less scary and overwhelming. Dr. Shamma is extremely professional and experienced, and we always felt we could fully trust him. During anxious moments, I often remembered the reassuring things he told me, and it helped me calm down and stop worrying so much. That meant a lot to me. We also want to give a special thank you to our navigator, Edita. She is so sweet, so kind, and always so warm and supportive. She made every interaction feel comfortable and personal, and her positive energy truly brightened our experience. We are deeply grateful for everything she did for us. Thank you again for helping make our dream come true.

We only got one Bastocyst out of 9 eggs but I’m pregnant and we couldn’t be happier!
