Boca Fertility

While I acknowledge our situation might be an outlier, my wife and I had a deeply disappointing administrative experience at Boca Fertility that ultimately caused us to take our business elsewhere, I use the word "business" as that what they made it seem like instead of a wonderful journey of new life. ​During our process, we were unexpectedly pulled into a room by the finance team , a tall young man, and blindsided with a demand to pay $20,000 before moving forward. The high-pressure environment felt exactly like being at a used car dealership. Knowing that our WIN Fertility insurance fully covered the procedure, I offered to put $10,000 on a credit card immediately just to avoid any delays in our treatment, as I knew we would likely later be reimbursed back. They flat-out refused. And said they don't take payment via credit card. I said , I jest, well if you told me ahead of time I would have brought my $20,000 bag of cash with me if they don't take credit card. They didn't take cash either. So they wanted us to pay something that was essentially unpayable in that room... ​We chose to walk out. When I later pushed them to double-check our file, they finally admitted they had made a mistake on their end. Their team had called Cigna instead of WIN Fertility due to an error on their manual tracking excel spreadsheet. They had showed they called and was declined, but that's because they called the wrong place.... ​Beyond the financial nightmare, some of the support staff seemed less than happy to be there, my observation. During one visit, an employee told us, complaining about having worked an overnight shift at a hospital only to have to come in and work Saturday morning at the clinic to do blood draws. Should people that tired be around needles? ​Fertility journeys are stressful enough without dealing with clerical incompetence and high-pressure sales tactics. We immediately switched IVF clinics and couldn't be happier with that decision—we welcomed our son a few months ago. Double-check your paperwork if you choose to go here. I did really like Dr Roberts though, she was very nice and friendly.

It feels weird to leave a review of a clinic, but here goes. I was a patient of Boca Fertility since Sept. I picked them because they have good doctors and have 4.8 stars. I thought they would be great. They accepted my insurance. I did not immediately qualify for IVF so they handled all the general fertility testing and IUI’s at first. They got prior auth from my carrier for all treatments. My carrier paid. It was pretty uneventful. I eventually had to move onto IVF which my carrier covers but requires prior auth for. For some reason, Boca Fertility thought it was a brilliant idea to get me to take all the pre-IVF preparation steps-watch videos, take BC, order medicine, do a trial transfer, and attend a start up appointment and then and only then surprise me with an out of pocket bill not factoring in insurance. When I got to the start up appointment, they did testing which took an hour and a half and then they sat me in a room with young man from finance and an IVF nurse and presented me with a $20k out of pocket bill and misrepresented to me that my carrier had not yet approved authorization. They would not accept a partial payment and told me to call my insurance. I guess I must have looked real gullible that day. They didn’t apologize til I asked why they’d call me in for an appointment before having auth or tell me status-just pay or as finance put it “we will not move forward.” Just pay us or solve your own problem. I called my carrier when I left and they never even submitted a prior auth request. When we called them out on this, they all of a sudden had the urgency to call my carrier and got auth in less than 24 hours. I elected not to continue service here because what if they send finance to wake me up mid surgery to tell my my carrier didn’t approve the anesthesia and ask me to pay “or they can’t continue”? LOL. This facility’s practices are a joke and predatory at best. If you have insurance be weary of their practices. Also, if you value your time-know that they will not. Choose wisely. Editing to say I went to IVF Florida and NEVER had billing issues and loved the clinic. I’d recommend them instead!

My husband and I were initially hesitant to be evaluated by a fertility specialist. We knew little about the process and were unaware of the many treatment plans available. We had an amazing initial visit with Dr. Roberts, where she obtained a thorough history from us both as well as presented us with a clear and informative PowerPoint discussing some of the treatments they offer/suggest. I've never had a physician go to such great lengths to ensure I understood my position and the options available to me. This alone made me feel at ease and eager to continue our journey with their team! Dr. Roberts asked us early on what our goals were and how big of a family we wanted, then titrated our treatment plan to align with those goals. Any lingering anxiety was gradually erased upon each visit. As if there were a better example of this, the team's Physician Assistant Wendy walked me through meditation before one of my exams! Every RN, PA, and Tech was patient, courteous, and supportive throughout each visit. It felt like they were just as invested in our success as we were! They also offered a lot of flexibility, even hosting a Zoom Meeting to discuss test results. Communication was very clear and I always received a same-day response when messaging through their app. Our goals were ultimately accomplished thanks to the team's attention to detail and unending tenacity. Anyone that's hesitant to approach fertility treatment with this team, I assure you that they will provide support and guidance particular to your goal. Our only letdown is that our experience with them ended and we could not continue our OB care with their office!

I am currently navigating a somewhat aggressive breast cancer diagnosis, which has been a scary rollercoaster. On short notice, I reached out to see if they could accommodate me within my limited timeframe for an egg retrieval, and they did. From Karen at the front desk, to Maretza, Dr. Roberts, Dr. Margolis, Shauna, Adela, every single person treated me with genuine kindness and compassion. The level of care and empathy I’ve experienced at this facility has been truly extraordinary. They have an app and are extremely communicative which made the process easy, even for someone like me who has a calendar full of appts and scans with various other doctors! I can’t fully put into words how grateful I am. They’ve given me something to be hopeful for at the end of my cancer journey. Even a five-star review feels insufficient to express my appreciation. I wholeheartedly recommend this center, 10/10 in every way.

The clinic made me feel so welcomed, and like part of the family. Everyone was so supportive and always happy to answer any questions!

My husband and I visited Boca Fertility after experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss with little to no explanation. Dr Margolis and her staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, to the moment we "graduated" at 9 weeks with our 4th pregnancy - our Rainbow baby girl. I'm currently 15 weeks and am so grateful for the quality care we received at Boca Fertility. I accredit making it this far in my pregnancy to the staff and Doctors here. Truthfully, I wish I would have seen her sooner. We can't express how much we enjoyed our experience here - although its one that can be so heartbreaking and difficult, finding this center made it much easier along the way! UPDATE:Our 4 month old baby girl was born in October and is the biggest blessing of our lives. Thank you, Boca Fertility! We will forever recommend you to all who will listen. ❤️

I am forever grateful to Boca Fertility for helping make my dream of becoming a mom come true. Because of this incredible team, I am now holding my beautiful 5-month-old baby in my arms. IVF is such an emotional and challenging journey, but I felt supported every step of the way. A very special shoutout to Adela, my ultrasound technician, who was TRULY my bright light through it all. Her kindness, encouragement, and compassion meant more than she’ll ever know. I strongly recommend Boca Fertility!

This practice (both locations) is everything you want in a fertility journey. Dr Margolis is very thorough, compassionate, and sensitive to her patients. I feel safe with her and trust her judgement without any hesitation. In the Fort Lauderdale office Wendy, Amanda, and Angel are incredible. They somehow make bloodwork and ultrasounds fun, comfortable, and they are so kind. Every time I have to go to that office my nerves are immediately put to rest by them and it feels like three friends that are rooting for me and helping me to get pregnant. Both locations are very clean and organized. I cannot recommend this fertility practice enough and I am so honored to be a patient here. With their expertise and good bedside manner, I just know we will be expecting soon. Thanks, ladies!

From the very first appointment with Dr. Roberts, I knew she would be our doctor. She is extremely knowledgeable and immediately made us feel comfortable and confident in her care. Everything was clearly explained, and every question was answered with patience and clarity. She is not only an extraordinarily talented doctor, but also a true human being who genuinely cares about her patients. While Dr. Roberts was my primary doctor, I was also seen by Dr. Margolis, and she is just as incredible. Together, they truly make a special duo - professional, compassionate, and deeply invested in their patient's journeys. The nurses deserve special recognition as well. They are an absolutely irreplaceable part of this clinic - true angels. Their kindness, warmth, and sincerity cannot be faked, and it makes all the difference during such an emotional journey. While my fertility journey had its challenges, I never once doubted that I was in the right place. From the very beginning, I felt supported, informed, and confident in the care I was receiving. After everything we went through, graduating from this clinic was an emotional milestone we will never forget. Boca Fertility will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we are incredibly thankful for the role they played in helping us build our family.
