About Dr. Austin Schirmer
Dr. D. Austin Schirmer is an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine and a specialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. His interest in treating infertility began during medical school, and he finds helping patients build their families deeply rewarding.
He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training entirely at Emory University Hospital before joining the Emory faculty. He served as a guest researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, researching ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and has published research with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s AFLAC fertility team on fertility in survivors of pediatric cancer.
