About
Iris Insogna came to fertility medicine through bioethics. She earned her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania together with a master’s in bioethics, and she now works in exactly the corner of IVF where those questions bite hardest: donor eggs, donor sperm, gestational carriers, and the legal and emotional architecture of LGBTQIA+ family building. A formal ethics background is not decoration in that part of the field — consent, parental rights and the status of embryos are the day-to-day problems.
She completed both residency and her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship in the Harvard program shared by Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General hospitals, and she is now an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia. She was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society in training and received multiple teaching awards at Harvard.

Why Choose Dr. Insogna
A bioethics degree she actually uses. Third-party reproduction and LGBTQIA+ family building turn on consent, parental rights and embryo disposition. She trained formally in that territory before practicing in it.
Harvard line, Columbia bench. Both her residency and fellowship came through the Brigham and Women’s / Massachusetts General Harvard program, now applied at an Ivy League academic center.
Recognized for bedside teaching. Alpha Omega Alpha, Gold Humanism Honor Society and repeated Harvard teaching awards point to a physician patients describe as an unusually clear explainer.
