About Dr. Garzo
Dr. V. Gabriel Garzo is a pioneer of reproductive medicine in San Diego. As Co-Founder and Medical Director of RPSD, he has devoted his career to helping couples build their families, combining deep clinical expertise with a warm, supportive approach that makes patients feel cared for throughout treatment.
Dr. Garzo received his medical degree from the University of Chile, completed residencies in General Surgery at the University of Manitoba and in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Toronto General Hospital, and spent two years researching ovarian physiology at Toronto’s Banting and Best Institute before completing his REI fellowship at UC San Diego.
After fellowship, Dr. Garzo served as an infertility specialist and Director of the IVF Laboratory at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla. He joined the Center for Advanced Reproductive Care in Redondo Beach in 1991, and in 1998 co-founded RPSD with Dr. David Meldrum. He is currently a Clinical Professor at UCSD and on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.
