About

About

Dr. Vasilios T. Goudas is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island, practicing at both the Mineola and Brooklyn locations of NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. He is the team’s lead for reproductive surgery.

Inspired in high school by the world’s first IVF pregnancy, Dr. Goudas completed his OB/GYN residency at Nassau University Medical Center (1996) and his reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine (1998). He holds dual board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (2001) and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (2002).

Trained in a high-volume surgical center, he brings a distinctive lens to fertility care: when infertility has a correctable anatomical cause, he treats the anatomy first, then optimizes the assisted reproduction pathway.

Clinical Expertise

  • Reproductive surgery: hysteroscopic myomectomy (fibroid removal) and laparoscopic tubal repair — including neosalpingostomy and fimbrioplasty
  • Tubal factor infertility: full decision pathway from laparoscopic assessment and repair surgery to IVF planning
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): individualized stimulation and embryo transfer (Google reviews for the Mineola practice document transfers he performed personally)
  • Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) and fertility preservation
  • Uterine cavity optimization: pre-transfer cavity assessment and surgical preparation, including fibroid and adhesion management

Why Choose Dr. Vasilios T. Goudas

Mayo Clinic surgical foundation: his REI fellowship at Mayo Clinic gave him microsurgical tubal repair skills (neosalpingostomy / fimbrioplasty) that few doctors on Long Island offer.

“Fix first, then assist” treatment planning: for fibroids, hydrosalpinx, and other anatomical factors, he can complete the entire sequence — surgical evaluation, surgery, then fertility decision-making — in one practice, avoiding referrals back and forth between a surgeon and a fertility clinic.

A philosophy patients remember: his signature line to patients — “The right question is not if they can become pregnant. The right question is: What can I do to help them become pregnant?” — reflects his solution-oriented approach.

Two-location flexibility: practicing in both Mineola and Brooklyn, he offers convenient care for patients living across Long Island and Brooklyn.

Professional Affiliations

Dr. Goudas is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in Obstetrics & Gynecology (2001) and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (2002). He is fluent in English, Greek, and Spanish, serving New York’s diverse patient community.
