We were with Duke Fertility Center for almost two years under Dr. Sarah Moustafa. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We felt that our time and money were wasted because the same cycles and approaches were repeated without much change or a clear explanation of what would be done differently. We asked many questions, but we often felt we did not receive satisfactory answers or guidance. In our experience, it also felt like our medical history was not being fully considered during our visits. We tried three times to complete a biopsy, but each month it could not be completed successfully, which caused more delays. We also had concerns about the lab process because we repeatedly felt there were issues with getting proper tissue samples. The hospital bills were also very high, which added to our stress. This is only based on our personal experience, but we would suggest that other patients carefully research and consider their options before choosing this clinic. We hope the clinic improves communication, coordination, and patient care in the future.

Forced to take a bogus class prior to receiving treatment and the provider never showed up. I waited over an hour for the class to start! I have been told to "just reschedule." The staff was friendly but ultimately unhelpful. I would recommend going to a fertility center that will respect your time.

The providers I talked to were lovely, but the billing department is inflexible and slow to respond. Ultimately I need to find a new provider as Duke was unwilling to work with my insurance plan. Luckily other clinics in the area will.

I’ve been coming to Duke Fertility for over a year now and I absolutely love this practice. My doctor, the nurses, my therapist, and the front desk staff are all exceptional. Infertility is such a difficult thing to navigate at the best of times, so I appreciate everything they do. I do agree with other reviewers about their billing practices. They make absolutely no sense. I have an outstanding credit of almost $3000 in pre-payments, but a $650 balance. They tell me it’s because claims are still with insurance, but there are some claims from Nov 2025 that still say pending?? The front desk staff has told me NOT to pay anything through the app and only pay through them, so that is what I plan to do from now on. I won’t be removing any stars for this because it’s such a small part of the experience. I also know billing and insurance companies in this country are total crap, so I would expect this at any clinic tbh. My stars are for the fertility treatment only

Shady practices. I would not trust this clinic with my fertility journey when they can’t even be trusted to handle billing correctly. And they do not reach out to follow up on inquiries. I was double billed for an initial visit which is illegal. I actually paid the original bill only for them to submit another claim to my secondary insurance provider where they upcoded for the same visit that was explicitly coded based on time. When I pointed out that I was doubled billed, Duke Fertility’s Billing Department said they would not only back out the second claim but refund me for the office visit due to all of the confusion. They did not honor that statement. I have called multiple times and left voicemails with no call back. They speak directly to my insurance companies but not to me and they have been dishonest about our initial communication. If the billing department is shady, I would not trust them with such a delicate process as this. Not to mention the staff are cold. It’s very difficult if not impossible to get a call back. I went with a different clinic. DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC.

They are an extremely disorganized practice. The billing department is consistently incompetent and unresponsive. They clearly prioritize self-pay patients over insurance because it maximizes their profits. At this point, they function more like a teaching facility and profit-driven business than a provider that genuinely focuses on patient care. It you can avoid it please do.

I’ve had such a wonderful experience with Duke Fertility Center. Dr. Sarah Moustafa is incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and has an exceptional bedside manner. She takes the time to explain every step and never makes you feel rushed, overwhelmed or cold. The nurses and staff have also been amazing, welcoming, supportive, and consistently kind throughout the entire process. A special shout out to Rosemarie who has received me at my best and worst. From scheduling to monitoring, medication guidance through retrieval. I’ve felt cared for and confident in the team every step of the way. I take none of this for grated. I’m deeply grateful for the professionalism, warmth, teamwork and expertise at Duke Fertility, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone navigating fertility care. Thank you.
