About

About

Betsy McCormick has spent nearly two decades at The Reproductive Medicine Group, where she joined in 2008 and built a practice around infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and recurrent pregnancy loss. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds the subspecialty board certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and she is one of the group’s partner physicians.

Dr. McCormick sees patients at the South Tampa and Clearwater offices. South Tampa is the office this ProIVF page is built around, and she is one of the physicians who practices there. Like the rest of the group, egg retrieval and embryo transfer for her IVF patients are carried out at the group’s own RMG IVF Surgery Center on Fletcher Avenue near the North Tampa office, rather than at the outpatient offices themselves.

Her training chain runs through the University of Cincinnati. She earned her undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a master’s degree in physiology with an emphasis in endocrinology, and her medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Cincinnati, where she received the Robert Rebar Award for Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and finished her reproductive endocrinology fellowship at the same institution. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Clinical Expertise

  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): Individualized cycle management from ovarian stimulation and monitoring through coordination of retrieval and embryo transfer, with the surgical steps performed at the group’s IVF Surgery Center.
  • Ovulation induction: Tailored stimulation protocols and close monitoring for patients with ovulation disorders, including PCOS.
  • Donor-egg cycles: Matching and management of oocyte-donation treatment cycles.
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Endocrine assessment and fertility planning.
  • Recurrent pregnancy loss: Cause-oriented workup and targeted intervention.
  • Fertility preservation: Egg-freezing and fertility-protection counseling.

Why Choose Dr. McCormick

Dual board certification. Dr. McCormick holds certification in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility subspecialty, letting her follow a patient from gynecologic and endocrine concerns through assisted reproduction.

Long standing at the group. She joined The Reproductive Medicine Group in 2008 and has practiced across the Tampa Bay area since, working the full outpatient-to-surgery-center pathway the group runs.

Recognized in training. During her University of Cincinnati residency she was awarded the Robert Rebar Award for Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, an honor marking strong performance in that training cohort.

Listed by ranking bodies. The clinic’s site lists her as a Castle Connolly Tampa Bay Top Doctor from 2018 through 2026, a US News & World Report Patients’ Top Choice, a Tampa Magazine Top Doctor (2021) and a Tampa Style Magazine Elite Doctor (2026). These are physician-level, commercially published honors stated by the clinic rather than independently confirmed here.
