About

About The Reproductive Medicine Group - South Tampa

The Reproductive Medicine Group (RMG) South Tampa sits at 2919 W Swann Avenue, Suite 305, on the Memorial Medical Center side of Tampa. It is one of five outpatient offices the group operates in the Tampa Bay area — North Tampa, South Tampa, Clearwater, Brandon and Wesley Chapel — plus a surgical facility, the RMG IVF Surgery Center, next to the North Tampa (Fletcher Avenue) office. The group is locally owned; its website says it has served the region for over 38 years, though the same site also shows “35+ years” on the homepage and “the last four decades” on its success page. Our sources do not document a precise founding year, so treat the “established 1988” figure as the earliest working date implied by those statements rather than an audited date.

South Tampa is an outpatient site. Consultations, ultrasound and hormone monitoring, blood draws, semen analysis, and IUI with fresh sperm happen here and at the group’s other four offices, Monday through Friday by appointment. Egg retrieval and embryo transfer are not performed at South Tampa; they take place at the RMG IVF Surgery Center on Fletcher Avenue. Hysterosalpingograms (HSG) and IUI using donor or frozen sperm run only at the Fletcher location. Weekend monitoring and inseminations are scheduled at Fletcher on weekend mornings.

Two of the group’s five partner physicians practice at South Tampa: Dr. Betsy McCormick and Dr. Timothy Yeko, supported by a nurse practitioner who rotates across offices. The other partners divide their time among North Tampa, Clearwater, Brandon and Wesley Chapel. The group calls itself the largest team of reproductive endocrinologists in the Tampa Bay area — a clinic-published claim. The 4.5-star rating with 49 reviews shown here belongs to the South Tampa Google listing specifically; the group’s North Tampa and Brandon offices have their own separate listings.

The success numbers on this page come from the group’s single SART registration (ClinicPKID 2058, SART #0375), not from South Tampa as a stand-alone site. RMG does not break results out by office. For patients under 35 using their own eggs, SART’s 2023 final report lists a 56.9% live birth rate per intended egg retrieval across all transfers; 35-37 is 36.0%, 38-40 is 28.7%, and the combined 40-and-over line is 17.8%. The report covers 1,427 cycles at the clinic level, with a retrieval-start report rate of 93.8%. Because these are group figures, read them as the practice’s overall performance rather than this office’s numbers.

Accreditations & Awards

RMG reports its outcomes to SART and the CDC as one clinic. That reporting (ClinicPKID 2058) is what makes the age-band tables on this page publicly checkable. The homepage’s “Platinum Status for SART Reporting” badge is a clinic-published label. The group also states its IVF runs on a CAP-accredited laboratory; the site does not publish a CAP number, and we found no CAP directory entry to confirm it.

The RMG IVF Surgery Center is described by the group as nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and as the only IVF/surgery center in the Tampa Bay area with that accreditation. Both are the clinic’s own claims; no AAAHC number appears on the site. The group is a member of The Prelude Network, listed as its parent organization in the site’s own metadata.

Physician honors the site highlights are self-reported and are individual, not clinic-wide: the homepage announces that Castle Connolly named four of the Tampa specialists as 2026 Top Doctors (Dr. Goodman, Dr. Tarantino, Dr. Yeko and Dr. McCormick), and the site says every partner physician has been rated among “Best Doctors in America” by US News & World Report. Footer and blog badges also cite Tampa Magazine Top Doctors, Tampa Style Magazine Elite Doctors 2026, and a Newsweek top-fertility-clinics listing that the clinic announced in a 2026 blog post. These are commercial rankings and physician-level honors rather than accreditations, and they are stated by the clinic rather than independently confirmed in our sources.

Why Choose The Reproductive Medicine Group - South Tampa

The practical draw of South Tampa is convenience paired with a dedicated surgical site. You can do the time-consuming part of a cycle — monitoring scans, bloodwork, and IUI — close to central Tampa, while the procedures that need an operating room move next door to the group’s own surgery center. That center, opened in 2004 on Fletcher Avenue, houses two certified operating rooms, a procedure room, and an adjacent IVF and embryology laboratory alongside an endocrine and andrology lab. The group states its anesthesiologists are board-certified physicians, its nurses are ACLS certified, patient-satisfaction survey scores land in the 96th percentile (via Medallia), and quarterly surveillance shows a zero infection rate. These are the clinic’s own reported figures.

On financing, the group is transparent about self-pay ranges and offers a refund-style guarantee package. It also names itself a “Center of Excellence” for UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna and BlueCross/Blue Shield — a designation it says is awarded partly on pregnancy rates achieved through single embryo transfer, which signals a preference for transferring one embryo at a time.

IVF & Fertility Services

South Tampa and the other four offices handle the outpatient work: new-patient consultations (virtual or in person, about 30-45 minutes), AMH and hormone blood testing, ultrasound follicle monitoring, semen analysis, and IUI with fresh sperm. Egg freezing and broader fertility preservation, including fertility preservation for cancer patients, run through the group’s program.

Cycle treatment is split across sites. For IVF, ovarian stimulation and monitoring happen at an office, while retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture and transfer occur at the surgery center. The site describes stimulation as medication for roughly two weeks with transvaginal ultrasound and bloodwork tracking, retrieval as a 15-30 minute procedure under IV sedation, embryos cultured for about a week, and a blood pregnancy test two weeks after transfer. ICSI, used for male-factor infertility and for all PGT cycles, is done in the group’s lab. Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) uses a blastocyst biopsy at the day-5 or day-6 stage; genetic screening is sent to partner laboratories.

Family-building and donation paths include donor egg (fresh and frozen, through the group’s own program and its partnership with MyEggBank North America), donor sperm (through FDA-registered banks such as those reachable via MySpermBank), reciprocal IVF for same-sex female couples, and gestational carrier arrangements. The group offers fertility preservation for transgender patients planning to undergo transition. Male-factor care — vasectomy reversal, testicular biopsy, and MESA/TESE/EEJ sperm retrieval — is performed at the surgery center by board-certified urologists the group works with rather than in-house.

Donor egg is a place to apply skepticism to marketing numbers: the site claims donor-egg pregnancy rates above 50% per cycle. That is a clinic-published figure, not a SART or CDC verified rate, and the group publishes no fresh-versus-frozen transfer-type breakdown for its own clinic.

Fees & Packages

RMG publishes self-pay ranges for patients without insurance coverage, on its cost pages:

  • IVF with PGT: $15,000 - $19,000 (includes ultrasound and blood monitoring, anesthesia, retrieval, conventional insemination, embryo culture, embryo biopsy, embryo freezing and one year of storage)
  • IVF without PGT: the price table lists $13,500 - $19,975, while the same page’s FAQ text says $13,500 - $17,000; the two figures appear side by side on the site
  • Egg freezing: $9,000 - $13,000 (includes monitoring, anesthesia, retrieval, egg freezing and one year of storage; medications optional add-on)
  • IUI: $2,000 - $5,000 (includes ultrasound, sperm wash and insemination)
  • Frozen embryo transfer (FET): $5,000 - $7,000 (includes ultrasound monitoring, embryo thaw and transfer; excludes medication, PGT and storage)

Medications are generally billed separately and are not part of the base cycle fee. Egg and embryo freezing and one year of storage are folded into the quoted prices; sperm freezing is not, and storage renews annually after the first year.

Insurance is possible but not guaranteed. The group says roughly 75% of its patients have some fertility benefit (a clinic estimate) and lists participating plans including Aetna, BCBS networks, Cigna/Great West, Humana, Multiplan, PHCS, Progyny, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, VA Health Care and WINFertility. Florida has no statewide mandate requiring insurers to cover IVF, so whether you are covered depends on your specific policy. HSA and FSA funds usually apply to IVF, IUI, FET, genetic testing and some medications, though long-term storage often does not.

Financing and protection options include BUNDL (whose Bundl Guard package advertises a 100% refund if you do not bring a baby home), PatientFi (loans up to $50,000, APR from 6.99%, terms up to 84 months), Future Family (loans up to $50,000), CapexMD and Lending Club Patient Solutions. A permanent 15% self-pay discount applies to select fertility-preservation services for teachers, active military and veterans, healthcare workers, first responders and cancer patients; Baby Quest grant recipients get a 15% discount on self-pay IVF and egg-freezing packages.

Patient Journey

You start through the “Get Started” entry — Request a Consultation, Contact, or the self-scheduler — and pick a virtual or in-person first visit of about 30-45 minutes, where a physician reviews your history and goals and outlines options. Before that visit, the practice asks you to complete new-patient forms five days ahead and sign an electronic release so it can pull records from prior providers. On the day, it asks you to arrive 15 minutes early with your insurance card, photo ID, and any co-pay or self-payment.

The first consultation pairs a physical exam with bloodwork and urine testing for hormone and AMH levels, ultrasound and antral follicle counts, and semen analysis where relevant. A financial counselor then contacts your insurer to verify benefits and lays out self-pay prices, financing and guarantee options. From there the team sets a treatment timeline. Stimulation and monitoring run Monday through Friday at your chosen office; retrieval, ICSI, culture and transfer are scheduled at the RMG IVF Surgery Center, and weekend scans, blood draws and inseminations move to the Fletcher office. Out-of-town and remotely monitored patients can be referred in and do monitoring at any of the five offices. Follow-up, results and medication run through the Prelude Connect patient portal, which supports linked partner accounts.

The clinic’s own pages frame the legal side of donor and third-party reproduction as process rather than statute, and our sources contain no Florida statute text to quote. What the site does document:

  • Gestational carriers (surrogacy): the practice works with surrogacy agencies and reproductive-law attorneys, and it requires a legal document to be completed before treatment begins at its clinic. The site describes the arrangement but does not make claims about Florida’s surrogacy statutes themselves.
  • Donor screening: egg donors are screened for sexually transmitted infections under FDA regulations and ASRM guidelines; the site lists donor ages of 21-32 and follows the ASRM guideline of no more than six donation cycles in a donor’s lifetime.
  • Insurance and state law: the site states plainly that Florida has no statewide mandate requiring insurers to cover fertility evaluation or treatment, so coverage depends on the individual plan.
  • Fertility-preservation coverage: the site notes that starting in 2026, Florida state-employee health plans must cover fertility preservation for people facing cancer-related infertility, effective for up to three years after treatment.

The stored-embryo and parentage rules referenced in the frontmatter fields are general statements about Florida law and were not verified against statute text in our sources; confirm them with Florida reproductive counsel.
