About
Dr. Ming-Zhe Chen is Vice President of Maosheng Fertility Center (Lee Women’s Hospital) and one of the most senior figures in Taiwanese reproductive medicine. He earned his MD from National Yang-Ming Medical College (awarded the Tu Tsong-he honor for academic excellence) and then — unusually for a clinician — completed an MSc in Clinical Embryology at the National University of Singapore, giving him paired credentials in both patient care and the embryology laboratory.
For much of his career he served at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, one of central Taiwan’s largest medical centers, rising from resident to Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Director of its Center for Reproductive Medicine, ART program director, and finally Chair of the Department of Women’s Medicine — shaping that hospital’s reproductive program into a regional benchmark. He went on to serve as the 16th President of the Taiwan Society of Reproductive Medicine and as clinical professor at the National Defense Medical Center.
At Maosheng he contributes both clinical and academic leadership to the Reproductive Medicine Department, covering infertility, IVF, hormonal disorders, gynecologic oncology, endometriosis and hysteroscopic/laparoscopic surgery.
Clinical Expertise
- IVF with embryology-level insight: his clinical embryology master’s degree informs embryo culture judgment, lab quality control and protocol design from both sides of the bench
- Reproductive endocrinology: systematic management of PCOS, luteal-phase defects and other hormonal causes of infertility, at chief-of-division depth
- Endometriosis and gynecologic tumors: fertility-preserving surgical decision-making with clear oncologic safety boundaries
- Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy: full minimally-invasive surgical training from the Veterans General system for one-stop treatment of surgical infertility
Why Choose Dr. Ming-Zhe Chen
A society-president pedigree. Leading the Taiwan Society of Reproductive Medicine as its 16th president means his standing was affirmed by the entire national specialty — the clinical consensus he helped promulgate during his term still shapes practice standards.
Medicine plus embryology, double board-level training. The MD + MSc Clinical Embryology combination is rare among Taiwan physicians; judgments about embryo quality and culture conditions rest on academic grounding, not just experience.
Builder of a flagship IVF center. From division chief to department chair, he assembled the reproductive medicine system at Taichung Veterans General Hospital — management experience he now applies to department development at Maosheng.
Surgery and medication in one plan. With equal command of hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and hormonal therapy, patients who need “surgery first, then IVF” get a single integrated roadmap.
