About
Dr. Christina Tise is Director of the Reproductive Genetics Clinic and Assistant Professor of Medical Genetics at Stanford University. She earned her MD/PhD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, completed her pediatric residency at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and finished both her medical genetics residency and clinical biochemical genetics fellowship at Stanford.
Dr. Tise specializes in reproductive genetics, assessing inherited disease risk and advising on PGD/PGS embryo genetic testing, while also caring for patients with differences of sexual development (DSD). She serves both the Sunnyvale fertility center and Palo Alto specialty clinics, providing genetic counseling for families building through assisted reproduction.
Clinical Expertise
- Reproductive Genetics: Assessing inherited disease transmission risk and designing genetic testing strategies for families pursuing assisted reproduction.
- PGD/PGS Genetic Testing: Professional evaluation and result interpretation for preimplantation genetic diagnosis and screening.
- Genetic Counseling: Carrier screening, donor genetic testing, and genetic evaluation for recurrent pregnancy loss.
- Differences of Sexual Development (DSD): Medical genetics evaluation and multidisciplinary care for patients with differences of sexual development.
Why Choose Dr. Tise
Dr. Tise is the core specialist in reproductive genetics at Stanford, and her MD/PhD training gives her rigorous foundations in both basic and clinical science for interpreting complex genetic test results.
As Director of the Reproductive Genetics Clinic, she works closely with the reproductive endocrinology team to embed genetic assessment into the assisted reproduction pathway — from carrier screening and PGD/PGS to embryo selection, providing one-stop genetics-reproduction joint care for families at genetic risk.
She practices at multiple locations including Sunnyvale and Palo Alto, giving patients flexible choice of appointment site and easy access to the Stanford fertility center’s IVF team.
