About

About

Devora Aharon is the first author of the study that answered a question patients were asking before the research existed: whether IVF outcomes and fertility are affected by COVID-19 vaccination. The work was published in the Green Journal (Obstetrics & Gynecology), the flagship publication of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and it is the kind of project that only lands on a resident’s or fellow’s CV if the question was theirs to begin with.

Her training ran through one institution with two detours. Undergraduate at Columbia University, then medical school, OB/GYN residency and reproductive endocrinology fellowship all at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (fellowship completed 2015), with an NIH-Fogarty Global Health Scholar research fellowship in Lima, Peru in between. She is double board-certified — in obstetrics and gynecology and in reproductive endocrinology and infertility — and holds an assistant clinical professorship at Mount Sinai.

She treats the endocrine side of infertility as one problem rather than several: fertility preservation for cancer patients, thyroid and other hormonal contributors to infertility, and family building for LGBTQIA+ patients. She sees patients in English and Spanish.

Clinical Expertise

  • Fertility preservation before cancer treatment: egg and embryo freezing timed around gonadotoxic therapy
  • IVF with an endocrine workup first: her published research covers IVF optimization alongside thyroid and reproductive endocrine disease
  • Reproductive and endocrine ultrasonology: diagnosis-stage imaging, not only monitoring
  • LGBTQIA+ family building: reciprocal and donor-based pathways as a named clinical interest
  • Research in patient-facing questions: vaccination and fertility, preservation outcomes, endocrine disruption

Why Choose Dr. Aharon

She publishes on the questions patients actually ask. The COVID-vaccine and fertility study made her a first author in the ACOG flagship journal at an early career stage.

Two boards, not one. Diplomate status in both obstetrics/gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Global-health training that shows up in the chart. The NIH-Fogarty scholarship in Lima is research training earned in a different health system, and her Mount Sinai record lists a Distinction in Research plus the department’s obstetrics and gynecology prize.

Spanish-language care available, alongside English.

Professional Affiliations

Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Faculty records list an assistant clinical professorship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and the obstetrics and gynecology research prize awarded during her Mount Sinai training. Her materials also cite a SuperDoctors Rising Star designation.

Suitable For

  • Patients about to start chemotherapy or radiation: preservation is her first-listed service and a research area
  • Anyone with a hormonal or thyroid condition plus infertility: she treats the endocrine problem and the fertility problem as one case
  • LGBTQIA+ patients and donors-known family building: named clinical focus
  • Patients who want the evidence cited: her own publications are part of why she holds the questions other clinics defer
  • Spanish-speaking patients: seen in Spanish
