About
Dr. Lindy Bak Li Mei is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with Metro IVF. She graduated MBBS from the University of Malaya in 2008, served in hospitals in both East and West Malaysia, and returned to Malaya for her Master of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MOBGYN) in 2017. She subsequently worked as an OB-GYN specialist at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban and with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), contributing to medical education and academic research along the way.
Her subspecialty focus is reproductive medicine: she completed assisted reproductive technology training in India in 2021, then in 2022 undertook an advanced course in IVF, ICSI, genetics and PGT at the University of Kent (UK), a diploma in artificial reproductive technologies at the University of Kiel (Germany), and a clinician ART certificate at the Singapore Reproductive Education and Specialist Training Centre.
Clinical Expertise
- Assisted reproductive technology: IVF and ICSI cycle management
- Female infertility diagnosis and treatment
- Embryo genetics and PGT-informed counselling
- General obstetrics and gynaecology
Why Choose Dr. Lindy Bak Li Mei
Dr. Lindy’s reproductive medicine education spans four countries and four credentialing systems — India for hands-on ART training, the UK (Kent) for IVF/ICSI and PGT science, Germany (Kiel) for an ART diploma, and Singapore for clinical ART certification — an unusually broad international base for a Malaysian consultant. That grounding in embryo genetics is directly relevant as Metro IVF performs NGS-based PGT, and patients considering genetic screening benefit from a clinician formally taught the subject rather than only referring it out. Her hospital background in Seremban and UPM, spanning labour ward and academic work, supports complex cases such as fibroids, recurrent miscarriage or medical conditions that complicate pregnancy.
