About Dr. Michael Opsahl
Dr. Michael Opsahl is the founder of POMA Fertility, with 44 years of experience as a specialist in women’s health and infertility.
He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina (1978), completed his OBGYN residency in the military medical system, and served as Medical Officer on the USS Nassau (LHA-4). After completing his REI fellowship at Walter Reed Army Hospital and the National Institutes of Health (1987), he served as Director of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and as Associate Clinical Professor at the Uniformed Services University.
After retiring from the Navy in 1994, he practiced at the Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) in Fairfax, Virginia for ten years. He co-founded the Northwest Center for Reproductive Sciences (NCRS) in 2004, and after its acquisition by Seattle Reproductive Medicine (SRM) in 2011, he founded POMA Fertility in 2013.
