About

About

Dr. Nisarath Soontrapa is Clinical Director of Superior A.R.T. (Centre for Assisted Reproductive Technology and Preimplantation Genetic Testing) in Bangkok, a role she has held since 2021 after serving as the clinic’s Associate Clinical Director of Academic Affairs from 2014 to 2020. She practises under Thai Medical Council licence W 36947, and her work spans three tracks — clinical decision-making at the center, consulting OB-GYN roles at Bangkok Hospital (BDMS) and Nakornthon Hospital, and teaching at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and the School of Medicine, Mae Fah Luang University.

She earned her M.D. with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Medicine of Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University — Thailand’s oldest medical school — in 2008, then completed subspecialty training in order: Thai Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (2012) and Diploma of Reproductive Medicine from the Thai Medical Council (2014). Beyond IVF practice, her academic focus is menopause and gynecologic endocrinology, with a randomized controlled trial on desogestrel for endometrial protection published in Scientific Reports (2022).

Her regional teaching footprint mirrors the clinic’s international network: invited lecturer at Superior A.R.T.’s annual regional clinical symposiums (2016-2019), at ISAR in Kolkata (2018), and at Victoria Hospital, Yangon (2019-2021) — the Myanmar center Superior A.R.T. helped establish in 2019. In 2022 she delivered the TSRM Fertility Patient Education keynote and joined the Fertility Meet the Expert advisory board.

Clinical Expertise

  • Systematic infertility evaluation: a full diagnostic pathway from hormone profiles, AMH-based ovarian reserve testing, and semen analysis to imaging, choosing IUI, IVF/ICSI, or surgery only after the cause is localized
  • Fertility preservation: egg and embryo freezing plans for patients facing gonadotoxic treatment or choosing to defer childbearing
  • Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A / PGT-M): coordination with the center’s in-house genetics lab for couples with hereditary disease history or recurrent loss, from indication to biopsy planning
  • Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery: operative treatment of endometriosis, intrauterine adhesions, and fibroids that compromise implantation
  • PRP ovarian rejuvenation and intrauterine perfusion: adjunct options for poor responders and thin endometrium
  • Menopause and gynecologic endocrinology: evidence-based management of abnormal uterine bleeding and postmenopausal urogenital symptoms — the field of her published research

Why Choose Dr. Nisarath Soontrapa

As Clinical Director, Dr. Soontrapa is the center’s final clinical authority — stimulation protocol standards, PGT indications, and difficult-case reviews all pass her judgment. For patients this means protocol adjustments during treatment do not travel through layers of handoff.

Her training path is unusually complete for a fertility specialist: an obstetrics and gynecology foundation that lets her manage surgical and pregnancy complications, plus a reproductive medicine subspecialty, rather than IVF-process-only practice. Her RCT publication record directly shapes how she weighs evidence strength in medication decisions.

She can also resolve what sits outside the IVF lab. In repeat-failure cases the blocker is often endometriosis, adhesions, or hydrosalpinx; her endoscopic surgery skill keeps those decisions — operate first or stimulate first — with one physician instead of a referral elsewhere.

Professional Affiliations

Dr. Soontrapa is licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand (No. W 36947) and holds diplomas from the Thai Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (2012) and the Thai Medical Council’s Reproductive Medicine subspecialty (2014). She has been an instructor at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and Mae Fah Luang University’s medical school since 2014, a long-standing participant in Thai Society for Reproductive Medicine education programs, and a member of the Thai Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Suitable For

  • Women at advanced maternal age or with low ovarian reserve: her focus on individualized dosing means conservative-versus-intensive stimulation calls are made from your AMH and response history, not a standard protocol.
  • Recurrent implantation failure or recurrent miscarriage: embryo genetics, cavity assessment, and endocrine-immune factors are screened in one pathway because she covers both PGT decision-making and hysteroscopy.
  • Patients with surgically correctable pathology: endometriosis, adhesions, or tubal disease handled by the same physician who will run your IVF cycle.
  • Couples with hereditary disease risk: full PGT-M/PGT-A indication assessment and coordination with the in-house genetics laboratory and counseling step.

Best For
