About
Dr. Saji Jacob is the founder, medical director, and laboratory director of GoFertility (Center for Reproductive Medicine and Robotic Surgery) in St. Louis, Missouri. He is one of only a handful of dual board-certified infertility specialists in the United States, holding board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director, with trained embryologist credentials.
After earning his MD at the University of Kerala in India, Dr. Jacob completed his OB/GYN residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Rotunda Hospital). He founded GoFertility in 2011 and has led it to beat the national average pregnancy rate per embryo transfer every year since.
Dr. Jacob is a certified robotic surgeon and national proctor who trains physicians across the U.S. in robotic gynecological surgery. Under his leadership, the center achieved an 88% pregnancy rate per embryo transfer in 2019 and was named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Fertility Clinics top 50 in 2023, 2024 and 2025; our source records no rank for any of those years.
Clinical Expertise
- IVF (In Vitro Fertilization): full-cycle management from ovarian stimulation to embryo transfer, with individualized protocols and complex tri-gas incubators that precisely control the embryo culture environment.
- ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection): precise sperm selection and injection for male factor infertility, improving fertilization success.
- PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy): chromosome screening to select euploid embryos for transfer, raising implantation rates and lowering miscarriage risk.
- Robotic Minimally Invasive Reproductive Surgery: certified robotic surgeon and national proctor with more than 1,000 complex robotic surgeries, including stage IV endometriosis excision, myomectomy, and tubal microsurgical reanastomosis.
- Split Cycle IVF / Embryo Banking: multiple retrieval cycles to accumulate embryos before transfer — an innovative approach for patients with low AMH / diminished ovarian reserve.
- Fertility Preservation: egg, embryo, and sperm freezing for medical or elective reasons.
Why Choose Dr. Jacob
Dr. Jacob is one of a select few U.S. specialists holding both ABOG board certification and ABB High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director certification. This rare dual credential lets him approach infertility from both the clinical and laboratory perspectives, with a deeper understanding of embryo culture and lab quality control than most clinicians.
As a certified robotic surgeon and national proctor, Dr. Jacob has completed more than 1,000 complex robotic surgeries covering stage IV endometriosis, myomectomy, and tubal reversal — allowing him to address both surgical and fertility needs in a single coordinated treatment plan.
After Dr. Jacob earned his High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director certification in 2018, the center’s pregnancy rate per embryo transfer reached 88% in 2019 — far above the national 30-40% average. The center says it has beaten the national average every year since opening in 2011 and claims a Newsweek top-50 spot “for 4 years in a row”; the years our sources name are 2023, 2024 and 2025, and no rank is recorded in them.
Dr. Jacob maintains a one-on-one patient care model, seeing every patient at every appointment and personally performing ultrasounds so patients understand what he sees. In large institutions patients can become “just a number”; at GoFertility, each patient receives the founder’s full attention.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Jacob is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (United Kingdom), the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (general obstetrics and gynecology), and the American Board of Bioanalysis (High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director). He holds a Clinical Assistant Professor appointment in OB/GYN at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and serves as attending physician at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Alton Memorial Hospital, and St. Claire Health Center. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and is registered with the Indian Medical Council.
Suitable For
- Advanced maternal age: Dr. Jacob brings extensive experience in ovarian reserve assessment and individualized stimulation for patients over 35.
- Complex endometriosis: as a leading endometriosis surgeon, he removes lesions robotically (about 50% of lesions are colorless and easily missed under conventional laparoscopy) and coordinates IVF after surgery to maximize pregnancy chances.
- Repeated IVF failure: with clinical and laboratory expertise, he analyzes prior failures across embryo quality, endometrial receptivity, and lab conditions.
- Robotic minimally invasive surgery: more than 1,000 robotic surgeries completed — tubal reversal, myomectomy, cyst removal — with faster recovery and less pain.
- Low ovarian reserve: his Split Cycle IVF / embryo banking approach offers an alternative path for patients with low AMH.
