About
Dr. Sasikan Tangthasana is an obstetrician-gynecologist and reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist at Superior A.R.T. in Bangkok. She is widely recognized in Thailand’s medical community for her laparoscopic surgery — the centre’s official website describes her as “a highly regarded laparoscopic surgery specialist in Thailand’s medical community.” Since 2016 she also runs the Laparoscopic Surgery Clinic and OB/GYN practice at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and works as a part-time obstetric consultant at several private hospitals.
She earned her MD with first-class honors from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in 2008, completed her OB-GYN residency (2011–2014) and fellowship (2014–2016) in the same system, and received the Thai Board Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2014) followed by the Thai Sub-Board Diploma in Reproductive Medicine (2016). Her surgical training includes 2018 fellowships in gynecological endoscopic surgery at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital in Thailand and at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, capped by a Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery in 2020.
Her research interests cover fertility treatment, gynecological laparoscopy and the prevention of gestational diabetes. She has authored three publications and, at the 2018 Asia-Pacific endoscopic and minimally invasive gynecology annual meeting in Surabaya, gave a video presentation on surgical technique for deep infiltrating endometriosis with ureteral involvement.
Clinical Expertise
- Infertility care: fertility assessment through stimulation, egg retrieval and transfer, managing the full range of female-factor causes
- Endometriosis and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) surgery: including complex cases with ureteral involvement — the subject of her international video presentation
- Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery: myomectomy, adhesiolysis and ovarian cyst management to establish implantation conditions before an IVF cycle
- Tubal factor infertility: diagnosis and surgical treatment of hydrosalpinx and tubal blockage
- Obstetric practice informed by gestational-diabetes research: two of her three papers (2013–2015) address gestational diabetes and neonatal outcomes
Why Choose Dr. Sasikan Tangthasana
Surgical skill is her sharpest differentiator. Endometriosis, hydrosalpinx and intrauterine adhesions all measurably depress implantation and pregnancy outcomes if left untreated. Because she can operate, Superior A.R.T. can correct these problems and then run the IVF cycle inside one treatment system, with no external referral.
Her surgical training carries cross-border endorsement. In 2018 she completed gynecological endoscopic fellowships both in Thailand (Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital) and in Taiwan (Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital), whose minimally invasive gynecology program sets a high standard, and her 2020 Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery confirms the credential.
She publishes and presents complex cases. The 2018 conference video report — surgical technique for DIE with ureteral involvement — covers one of the complication-prone frontiers of endometriosis surgery. Surgeons who expose such details publicly tend to hold themselves to stricter indications and dissection discipline.
Her academic record spans the whole pregnancy journey. Her three papers between 2013 and 2021 cover manual vacuum aspiration practice, gestational diabetes with large-for-gestational-age newborns, and analgesia for contraceptive implant removal — a clinical perspective that extends beyond egg retrieval and transfer.
Certifications
Dr. Sasikan holds a Medical Council of Thailand practicing license (No. W 37027). Her credentials in order: MD with first-class honors, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University (2008); Diploma of the Thai Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (2014); Diploma of the Thai Sub-Board of Reproductive Medicine, Siriraj Hospital (2016); fellowships in gynecological endoscopic surgery at Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (2018); and Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery (2020). She published a randomized controlled analgesia study in Thai J Obstet Gynaecol (2021) and gestational-diabetes papers in international journals (2015, 2013). She is affiliated with the Thai Society for Reproductive Medicine (TSRM) and the Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Thailand.
Suitable For
- Endometriosis-associated infertility: endometriosis damages ovarian reserve, pelvic environment and implantation at once, so IVF alone underperforms; her surgery can debulk disease before the cycle, and her DIE experience matters in complex cases.
- Patients needing surgery before an IVF cycle: adhesions, fibroids and polyps are solved operatively before transfer; she owns the path from surgery to stimulation, avoiding hand-off gaps between institutions.
- Tubal factor or pelvic-adhesion infertility: hydrosalpinx is a recognized implantation-reducing factor; correct diagnosis and surgical management directly affect subsequent cycle outcomes.
- Recurrent miscarriage work-up for cavity causes: uterine morphology, adhesions and endometrial condition are frequent culprits, and hysteroscopy falls squarely within her routine practice.
