About
Erika Johnston-MacAnanny, M.D., FACOG is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist at Shady Grove Fertility - Richmond, seeing patients at the Henrico, Stony Point and Roanoke locations. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, earned her medical degree at SUNY Syracuse, trained in OB/GYN at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and finished a 3-year REI fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
After fellowship, Dr. Johnston joined the faculty of Wake Forest School of Medicine as an Associate Professor in Reproductive Medicine, later becoming Medical Director of the Center for Reproductive Medicine. She joined SGF Richmond in 2018. She is highly active in continuing medical education: she has written for the American College of Physicians (MKSAP) and ACOG Prolog, co-chaired the 2018 Reproductive Medicine ACOG Prolog revision, writes exam questions for the ABOG subspecialty board, and teaches advanced operative hysteroscopy techniques to gynecologists and reproductive endocrinologists nationwide.
Dr. Johnston currently serves as President of the ASRM Women’s Council. During her fellowship and faculty career at Wake Forest she received national research and teaching awards and has published on IVF, endometriosis and recurrent implantation failure.
