About
Dr. Sasawimol Preechapornkul is Medical Director and Chief Physician of Genea Thailand, the Bangkok clinic of the Australian Genea Group. As the clinic’s senior clinical figure, she is responsible for medical protocols, patient care standards, and the alignment of Genea Thailand’s practice with Genea Australia’s audited quality system.
She studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University — one of Thailand’s top medical schools — graduating with Second Class Honours, then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency and Thai Board certification at Chiang Mai University. Early in her career she also undertook a fertility medicine attachment at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
Before joining Genea, Dr. Preechapornkul spent roughly a decade (2009-2019) as an infertility specialist at the Bangkok IVF Center of BNH Hospital, one of Thailand’s historic private hospitals. There she independently managed more than 200 ovarian stimulation cycles and over 100 embryo transfer and frozen embryo transfer cycles every year. In 2019 she completed clinical training at Genea Australia’s headquarters before taking the Medical Director role in Bangkok, ensuring her protocols mirror the Group’s Australian standards.
Clinical Expertise
- IVF (In Vitro Fertilization): full-cycle management from stimulation to transfer, with protocols matched to age and ovarian reserve, built on a volume of 200+ stimulation cycles annually
- ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection): complete ICSI cycle experience across fertilization, transfer, and cryopreservation steps
- Recurrent implantation failure: structured re-evaluation of ovarian response, embryo quality, and endometrial receptivity before adjusting strategy
- Frozen embryo transfer: endometrial preparation and transfer timing for vitrified embryos, including PGT-tested cycles
- Individualized ART planning: treatment designed around each patient’s diagnosis, history, and response pattern rather than a standard template
Why Choose Dr. Sasawimol Preechapornkul
A decade of high-volume specialist practice at the Bangkok IVF Center means Dr. Preechapornkul has handled virtually every stimulation response scenario — hyper-responders, poor responders, and repeat failures — and developed fast, evidence-based judgment. Patients at Genea Thailand are treated by the clinic’s own Medical Director, not a rotating roster.
Her training path deliberately bridges both countries where Genea operates: a University of Adelaide fertility attachment followed by Genea Australia clinical onboarding in 2019. She also keeps current with the international science, attending ESHRE congresses (London 2013, Vienna 2019), the World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility (COGI, Paris 2014), the Asia Pacific Reproductive Initiative congress (Brisbane 2014), and the Congress on Innovation in Reproductive Medicine (Frankfurt 2015).
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Preechapornkul holds Thai medical licensure with Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology (Chiang Mai University) and practices within the Genea Group’s shared clinical protocol and quality assurance system connecting its Australian and Thai clinics.
