About
Dr. Hey-Joo Kang completed her reproductive endocrinology fellowship at Weill Cornell’s Center for Reproductive Medicine and joined the same center’s faculty immediately afterward — now an associate professor of clinical OB/GYN and clinical reproductive medicine, and site physician in Garden City on Long Island as well as the Upper East Side.
Her named areas of focus cluster around implantation threats: polycystic ovarian syndrome (where stimulation itself must be handled carefully), recurrent pregnancy loss, and endometriosis-related infertility. The full ART range is in her practice — ovulation induction, IVF, fertility surgery, and male-factor-inclusive couple evaluation.
Her record inside the training system she now teaches in is unusually explicit: Alpha Omega Alpha in medical school at SUNY Buffalo, the Excellence in Teaching Award as OB/GYN chief resident at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, and continuing involvement in clinical research and in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. She is dual board-certified by ABOG, an ASRM member, and repeatedly named a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and New York Magazine. Korean-speaking patients can consult, consent and monitor in Korean.
Clinical Expertise
- PCOS Infertility: metabolic and endocrine evaluation with stimulation protocols designed to limit hyperstimulation risk
- Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: structured workup of uterine, endocrine, genetic and clotting factors before the next attempt
- IVF and ICSI: complete cycle management inside CRM’s in-house laboratory program
- Ovulation Induction and IUI: medicated and monitored cycles as first-line therapy where appropriate
- Endometriosis-Associated Infertility: surgical and suppressive strategies weighed against ovarian reserve and timing
- Fertility Surgery: laparoscopic and hysteroscopic treatment of anatomical causes
- Male Factor Contribution: couple-based evaluation so both partners’ factors are planned together
Why Choose Dr. Kang
A single institution’s entire standard of care, taught forward. She trained at CRM, joined its faculty immediately after fellowship, and still teaches its fellows — her protocols and the lab’s practices grew up together.
Specialist attention to the two hardest repeat problems. PCOS and recurrent loss are not occasional cases in her practice; they are the listed focus.
Teaching-award pedigree. Chief-resident excellence in teaching is a reliable signal for patients who want their plan explained, not announced.
Korean-language reproductive care — consultation and cycle communication without an interpreter in the room.
Long Island convenience: Garden City site physician for monitoring-heavy cycles.
