About
Dr. Giannina Karangos holds a medical degree from the Facultad de Medicina of Universidad de San Martín de Porres (Lima, Peru) and completed her graduate training at Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan — an international path that also makes her one of the few Oak physicians consulting in both Japanese and English. Before joining Medical Corporation Oak in 2015 she held positions at Hyogo College of Medicine Hospital, Kobe Adventist Hospital and Koba Ladies Clinic.
In April 2025 she was appointed medical director of Oak Clinic Ginza, the group’s Tokyo branch (source: corporate profile of Medical Corporation Oak). She also rotates at the Osaka Sumiyoshi flagship.
Her research record sits squarely in assisted reproduction: a comparative study of urinary versus recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone in in-vitro follicle growth, maturation and fertilization, and work on the harmful effects of anti-zona pellucida antibodies in folliculogenesis, oogenesis and fertilization (source: official clinic staff profile) — background that informs how she approaches immune-factor and repeated-failure patients.
Clinical Expertise
- IVF and ICSI cycle management under Oak’s individualized stimulation philosophy
- Reproductive immunology: evaluation of anti-zona pellucida antibodies and immune factors in unexplained and recurrent-failure infertility
- Gonadotropin protocol selection: academic grounding in urinary vs recombinant FSH performance applied to stimulation design
- Clinic leadership: protocol and quality responsibility as medical director of the Ginza branch
Why Choose Dr. Giannina Karangos
