About

About

Dr. Chun-Yi Li is Chief Physician of the Reproductive Medicine Department and Director of the Genetics Laboratory at Maosheng Fertility Center (Lee Women’s Hospital) in Taichung, serving at both the Taichung headquarters and the Banqiao campus. He earned his MD and PhD in Medicine at Chung Shan Medical University, then practiced as a physician in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at National Taiwan University Hospital before returning to Chung Shan Medical University Hospital as Deputy Director of its Center for Reproductive Medicine and assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

At Maosheng he uniquely runs both sides of modern IVF at once — the clinic and the ISO 15189/TAF-accredited genetics laboratory — so treatment plans routinely integrate PGT-A and PGT-M embryo testing without external referrals.

He serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Society of Reproductive Medicine, holds an associate professorship at Chung Shan Medical University, and was medical advisor to the SET television fertility drama Mother to Be — experience that shows in his reputation for explaining complicated plans patiently to patients.

Clinical Expertise

  • IVF: individualized stimulation and transfer strategy, with PGT screening woven into treatment planning from his genetics-director vantage point
  • Egg donation programs: a core physician of Maosheng’s donor-egg service, experienced in the matching workflow regulated by Taiwan’s Artificial Reproduction Act
  • Egg freezing: vitrification-based fertility preservation for women delaying childbearing
  • Infertility medication and surgery: stepwise design from oral ovulation induction to laparoscopic intervention

Why Choose Dr. Chun-Yi Li

One physician, clinic plus laboratory. Heading both the reproductive department and the genetics laboratory makes Dr. Li one of the few physicians who can carry a complex case — chromosome issues, recurrent miscarriage, hereditary disease risk — end to end from IVF protocol to PGT-M diagnosis without handing off.

Dual elite-system training and management. Practice inside NTUH’s reproductive endocrinology division plus deputy-director experience running Chung Shan Medical University Hospital’s reproductive center gives him command of both lab quality control and clinic workflow at the management level.

Complete academic rank. A medicine PhD and associate professorship in obstetrics and gynecology, with a society deputy secretary-general role, keep his protocols aligned with the latest evidence.

Proven public communicator. Serving as medical advisor to a national TV fertility drama built rare experience translating reproductive medicine for general audiences — patients consistently note how clearly he explains plans.

Professional Affiliations

Dr. Li is Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Society of Reproductive Medicine, an assistant professor (and former faculty member) of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Chung Shan Medical University Hospital, and an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Chung Shan Medical University School of Medicine. He is a certified artificial-reproduction practitioner under Taiwan’s National Health Administration.

Suitable For

  • Recurrent miscarriage or chromosomal abnormality families: the genetics-director role connects PGT-A/PGT-M testing directly to the treatment plan, no external referral needed
  • Egg freezing and fertility preservation: freezing expertise supported by the hospital’s CAP-accredited laboratory (2025)
  • Families considering egg donation: experienced navigation of donation matching under Taiwan’s legal framework
  • Younger infertility patients: stepwise planning from medication to surgery, designed to avoid overtreatment

Best For

IVF patients with repeated implantation failure Women planning egg freezing and fertility preservation Families considering egg donation programs Patients who value a genetics-testing background
