About
Dr. Megumu Ito brings one of the deepest careers on the Shinjuku staff to Sunday clinic duty. She earned her MD at Tokai University School of Medicine and holds a research degree from Kinki University’s Graduate School of Biophysics and Bioengineering — an unusual engineering-meets-medicine background for a fertility physician. Her career moved through two of Japan’s premier national institutions, the National Center for Global Health and Medicine and the National Center for Child Health and Development, followed by Saisekai Narashino Hospital and a term as director of the Ladies Center at Saisekai Yokohama Tobu Hospital, before joining Sugiyama Ob-Gyn Clinic Shinjuku.
She has 26 years’ experience as a physician and 24 in reproductive medicine, and holds the Specialist-and-Trainer tier credentials of both the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Why Choose Dr. Megumu Ito
Dr. Ito is the physician the clinic turns to for unexplained infertility — the hardest category to treat because there is no obvious target — backed by 24 years of cycles across national centers and a hospital-director post. Her own description of her practice is treatment built around an image of the pregnancy and birth the patient actually wants, with honest coaching on weight and daily habits when it matters, delivered gently because she knows how stressful clinic-going already is. Patients who want a senior specialist who weighs their treatment history and life goals over protocol routine, and who are comfortable with frank, practical advice, will find her consultations unusually grounded.
