Michael Edelstein, M.D. is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at Shady Grove Fertility - Richmond, focusing on the medical and surgical aspects of assisted reproductive technology (ART). He holds dual board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, with extensive clinical experience in IVF, hysteroscopic surgery and complex infertility care.
Dr. Edelstein graduated with distinction from Cornell University (Phi Beta Kappa), earned his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis (Alpha Omega Alpha), completed his OB/GYN residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (twice receiving the Resident’s Teaching Prize), and finished his REI fellowship at the Howard and Georgeanna Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk — America’s first IVF program.
Before joining Shady Grove Fertility, Dr. Edelstein was a founding partner and Medical Director of Virginia Fertility Associates/Virginia IVF and Andrology Center in Richmond. The practice merged with SGF in 2018, making SGF Richmond the largest IVF practice in Greater Richmond. In his free time he has completed the New York City Marathon and appeared on Jeopardy!
