About
Dr. Shozo Tanada is consultant physician and occupational health doctor at Hanabusa Women’s Clinic in Kobe. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Kyoto University in 1972 and beginning his career in the university’s OB-GYN department, he served as lecturer in obstetrics and gynecology at Ehime University Faculty of Medicine, senior physician at Kobe City Central Citizens’ Hospital (from 1983) and head of the OB-GYN department at Hyogo Prefectural Amagasaki Hospital (from 1990).
Across more than five decades of clinical practice he has attended over 10,000 deliveries and performed thousands of gynecological operations. While leading the prefectural hospital OB-GYN department he became one of the first physicians to introduce in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer into Hyogo’s prefectural hospital system, opening a local treatment pathway for infertility patients. He joined Hanabusa Women’s Clinic in 2005 as director of its Tarumi clinic and now continues to provide clinical guidance as consultant and occupational health physician.

Why Choose Dr. Tanada
There is little substitute for volume of experience in obstetrics and gynecology: Dr. Tanada’s 10,000-plus deliveries and thousands of surgeries give him pattern recognition across a half-century of changing practice, from pre-IVF infertility care to today’s protocols. His perspective is valuable for patients with complex surgical histories or secondary infertility, and he represents the classic IVF tradition at a clinic better known for high-tech add-ons — a grounding influence on treatment planning.
