About

Dr. Rikikazu Sugiyama is the founder and chairman of the Sugiyama Clinic Group, one of Japan’s leading networks dedicated to reproductive medicine. He earned his MD from Tokyo Medical University in 1994 and completed a half-year fellowship in in vitro fertilization at Saint Mother Ob-Gyn Clinic in Kitakyushu in 1999 — the start of 31 consecutive years in assisted reproduction.

In 2000 he opened the group’s first reproductive medicine clinic, then established the Setagaya hospital (2007), the Marunouchi branch (2011) and the Shinjuku branch (2018). In 2019 he founded the Sugiyama Memorial Foundation, a public interest foundation supporting research and education in reproductive medicine. He is board certified by the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds the Reproductive Medicine Specialist credential of the Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine.
