About
Dr. Ryosuke Akino is an adjunct physician at Kato Ladies Clinic (KLC) in Shinjuku, Tokyo. He first joined KLC in 2021, spent four years continuing hospital-based practice, and returned to the clinic in 2025 as a member of its minimal-stimulation and natural-cycle IVF team.
His training ran through the Showa University obstetrics and gynecology network: Showa University Hospital, Fujigaoka Hospital, Northern Yokohama Hospital and Koto Toyosu Hospital, with interludes at Keiai Hospital in Obihiro, Hokkaido, and a key posting at the National Center for Child Health and Development in Tokyo in 2018, Japan’s premier children’s hospital and one of its most experienced infertility referral centers.
That mix of university, regional hospital and national-center experience, backed by formal certification in both reproductive medicine and operative endoscopy, lets Dr. Akino manage fertility patients whose treatment also requires laparoscopic or hysteroscopic surgery.
Clinical Expertise
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): natural-cycle and mild-stimulation protocols with individualized ovarian response planning
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): micromanipulation fertilization for male-factor infertility and prior fertilization failure
- Female infertility surgery support: evaluation of endometriosis, uterine fibroids and adhesions, including cases needing endoscopic intervention before ART
- Reproductive medicine consultations: full-pathway planning within KLC’s 365-day clinic system
Why Choose Dr. Ryosuke Akino
The infertility service at the National Center for Child Health and Development takes on some of Japan’s most complex reproductive cases, from congenital conditions to repeated ART failure. Dr. Akino’s years there trained him to re-examine stalled treatment histories rather than simply repeat them.
He is one of the few fertility physicians holding certification for operative endoscopy from the Japanese Society for Endoscopic Gynecology alongside JSOG specialist and instructor status and JSRM reproductive medicine certification. For patients whose endometriosis or fibroids need surgical management before IVF, this combination avoids a referral hand-off.
Having already worked inside KLC from 2021 to 2022, he returned familiar with the clinic’s mild-stimulation protocols and lab workflows, which keeps patient care plans consistent across physicians.
