About

About

Sarah Gallegos started at CCRM on the IVF floor, as nurse coordinator for William Schoolcraft, the practice’s founder and chief medical officer. Coordinating the founder’s cycles meant learning stimulation protocols, monitoring schedules and medication teaching from the physician who wrote many of them. She moved from that role to weekend lead nurse and coordinator — the shift that covers the ultrasounds and labs a stimulation cycle needs on a Saturday morning — and then went back for her advanced practice degree.

She holds a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Denver, a nursing degree from Regis University, and a master’s in nursing with nurse-midwifery training from Frontier Nursing University, which is where she earned her Certified Nurse-Midwife credential. Three different roles inside one practice is the unusual part of that biography: she has been the person calling patients back about a cycle and the person who now performs their procedures. Our sources do not date her arrival at CCRM.

In the Lone Tree clinic she works alongside the practice’s reproductive endocrinologists on day-to-day cycle care: IUIs, endometrial biopsies, risk-factor assessments and the physical examination that opens an IVF workup, plus the education visit where injection technique and the treatment calendar get walked through. She is a nurse clinician rather than a physician — diagnosis and the treatment plan come from the practice’s doctors, while a large share of the visits a patient actually attends are hers.

Clinical Expertise

  • Intrauterine insemination: performs IUI procedures for patients on the practice’s stimulation and monitored cycles
  • Endometrial biopsy: uterine lining sampling ordered as part of a fertility workup
  • IVF intake examinations and risk assessment: the physical and history review that precedes a cycle, including factors that change protocol choice
  • Cycle monitoring and coordination: ultrasound-visit logistics, lab timing and medication instructions, the coordinator skill set she brought from her years on the IVF floor
  • Patient education: injection teaching, treatment calendars and what to expect at retrieval and transfer
  • Weekend and early-morning coverage: her lead-nurse years included the weekend monitoring window this clinic opens at 7:00 AM

Why Choose Sarah Gallegos

She learned coordination from the founder’s own panel. Being Dr. Schoolcraft’s IVF nurse coordinator is a specific kind of training in how this practice runs a cycle.

Three roles, one practice. Coordinator, weekend lead nurse, then advanced practice nurse — she has seen the same workflow from the scheduling side and the procedure side.

Credentialed in nurse-midwifery. The CNM is a certification in low-risk obstetrics and women’s health care, earned through a master’s program at Frontier Nursing University.

Procedures she actually performs. IUIs and endometrial biopsies are hers to carry out, which means continuity for patients who would otherwise meet a different clinician at every visit.
