About
Dr. Satoru Takamizawa is Vice Director of Sugiyama Ob-Gyn Clinic Shinjuku. He graduated from Jichi Medical University in 1989, trained in obstetrics and gynecology there with a focus on infertility, and rose to lecturer in its OB-GYN department before becoming professor of the Reproduction Center at International University of Health and Welfare Hospital — an academic career combining research with high-volume clinical practice.
He joined Sugiyama Ob-Gyn Clinic Shinjuku as vice director in 2018. He is a Specialist and Certified Trainer of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Reproductive Medicine Specialist and Certified Trainer of the Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine, holding both of the highest credential tiers in his field in Japan. His special interests run through ART generally, hysteroscopic surgery, PRP therapy, recurrent pregnancy loss, onco-fertility and egg immunity research.
Clinical Expertise
- General infertility treatment and assisted reproductive technology (ART)
- Hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic surgery, used routinely in diagnosis as well as treatment
- PRP therapy: platelet-rich plasma intrauterine infusion for thin endometrium and PFC-FD ovarian injection for diminished ovarian reserve
- Recurrent pregnancy loss (habitual miscarriage) management
- Anti-neo-self antibodies and egg immunity (anti-zona pellucida antibodies)
- Onco-fertility: fertility preservation before cancer treatment
Why Choose Dr. Satoru Takamizawa
Dr. Takamizawa is the clinic’s leading voice for theory-based, evidence-driven medicine: he builds each plan from test data and published evidence, then adapts it to the individual patient — an approach that appeals to patients who want to understand exactly why a step is taken. His use of hysteroscopic observation in everyday practice gives him a direct look at the uterine cavity that many scan-only work-ups miss, and he is one of the few Japanese clinicians experienced in PRP and PFC-FD protocols for the hardest endometrial and ovarian-reserve cases. As a trainer-certified specialist and former professor, he is also the go-to physician for referrals involving repeated loss or failed fertility-sparing decisions.
