About
Dr. Satoshi Tsuchiyama has been Medical Director of Kato Ladies Clinic (KLC) in Shinjuku, Tokyo since 2023, sharing clinical leadership of one of Japan’s highest-volume IVF clinics. His career reads like a map of Tokyo’s fertility clinic landscape: KLC from 2010, Shimbashi Yume Clinic in 2011, a return to KLC in 2012, Shinjuku ART Clinic in 2014, and back to KLC permanently from 2016.
He earned his MD from Kanazawa University School of Medicine in 2004, served at City Imizu Takaoka General Hospital in Toyama, then entered the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tokyo Women’s Medical University, training through its hospital network including Ota Memorial Hospital and the Yachiyo Medical Center. That university system, Japan’s largest women-focused medical institution, shaped his approach to reproductive endocrinology.
Dr. Tsuchiyama is certified at instructor level in reproductive medicine, the senior tier of Japan’s ART credentialing, and works across both female and male infertility, including sperm retrieval and ICSI programs for severe male factor.
Clinical Expertise
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): protocol design and cycle management within KLC’s minimal-stimulation and natural-cycle framework
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): advanced micromanipulation fertilization for severe male-factor infertility
- Male infertility care: semen analysis, hormonal evaluation, and surgical sperm retrieval (ESA/TESE) coordinated with ICSI
- Complex and repeat-failure cases: re-evaluation of stimulation strategy, fertilization failure and recurrent implantation failure
Why Choose Dr. Satoshi Tsuchiyama
As Medical Director, Dr. Tsuchiyama is accountable for KLC’s clinical outcomes and protocol standards. Patients who consult him are effectively getting a second opinion at the level at which the clinic itself sets its treatment policy.
His instructor-level JSRM certification places him among the small group of physicians qualified in Japan to supervise and examine other reproductive medicine specialists. Few fertility patients meet that standard of credentialing.
Uniquely among KLC’s directors, his listed practice spans both female infertility and male-factor treatment, so couples can address ovarian and sperm-side problems in one consultation, including cases where TESE-retrieved sperm will be used for ICSI.
