Valerie Lynn Baker, MD, MPP is the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Telinde-Wallach Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She works in assisted reproductive technology on both the clinical and research side, and her society roles — SART Vice President, past president of SREI, former chair of SART’s research committee — are set out below.

Dr. Baker earned her MD from Harvard Medical School and an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at UCSF.

Before joining Johns Hopkins, she held faculty positions at UCSF, the University of Washington and Stanford University. She currently serves as Vice President of SART and past President of SREI, playing a leading role in shaping national quality standards in assisted reproduction.
