Aspire Fertility San Antonio is a SART member clinic. SART registers one San Antonio entity (ClinicPKID 2411) at the group's Stone Oak address, so the Alamo Heights office reports under that entity's membership rather than holding one of its own.

About Aspire Fertility - Alamo Heights

Alamo Heights is one of three Aspire Fertility offices in San Antonio, Texas. The address is 430 W Sunset Rd, Suite 200, and the clinic’s own page for this site says it provides IVF and other fertility treatments. That page names four providers who appear under the Alamo Heights heading - Ursula Balthazar, MD, Courtney Failor, MD, Jennifer Knudtson, MD, and Cheryl Koone, FNP - and it posts clinic hours for Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The other two San Antonio offices are Stone Oak/IVF Lab (150 E Sonterra Blvd, Suite 220) and Medical Center (4330 Medical Dr, Suite 150); Aspire routes all three through one number, (210) 337-8453, and labels the whole set “Aspire Fertility San Antonio - The Prelude Network.”

Two dates in this profile describe the brand rather than this building. Aspire states on its San Antonio pages that it has served patients in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta since 2015, and that in 2018 it combined with Reproductive Medicine Associates of Texas (Texas RMA) and now operates under the Aspire Fertility name. Our sources give no opening year for the Alamo Heights office, and none for Aspire’s San Antonio clinics at all. The established: 2015 field above carries the network’s own date; we do not treat it as the year this address started seeing patients.

Read the rates on this page as group data, not as Alamo Heights results. SART registers one San Antonio practice - Aspire Fertility Institute San Antonio, SART number 0717, ClinicPKID 2411, registered at 150 E Sonterra Blvd - and it files one set of numbers for the San Antonio operation as a whole. For SART 2023 Final the entity logged 1,697 cycles and live birth per intended egg retrieval (all transfers) of 58.4% under 35, 33.8% at 35-37, 27.4% at 38-40 and 13.2% over 40. The over-40 value combines SART’s two older brackets, 15.4% at 41-42 (78 cycle starts) and 8.3% over 42 (36 starts); starts behind the brackets run 310, 216, 190, 78 and 36, or 830 in all.

The national line on the same chart is the SART 2023 National Summary (ClinicPKID 0), so the two rows share a registry and a reporting year and the brackets are comparable. They split. Aspire’s San Antonio entity lands above the national figure in three brackets - 58.4% against 53.2% under 35, 27.4% against 26.2% at 38-40, 13.2% against 9.4% over 40 - and below it at 35-37, 33.8% against 39.9%. Any summary that quotes only the winning brackets is not giving you the whole line. Two further limits: our data holds no fresh-transfer or frozen-transfer split for this clinic, so all four numbers mix both types, while the national row shows how much that mix matters (41.7% fresh against 47.9% frozen under 35); and the nationalAverageCycles figure of 932 in the fields above is built from mixed reporting bases in our sources, so we do not turn 1,697 cycles into a multiple of anything. One unresolved conflict, recorded here rather than hidden: a CDC API pull for this entity returned 1,482 cycles and a 52.1% rate, which our research pass reads as an older reporting year because the API ignored its year parameter, and we kept the SART 2023 Final row instead.

The Google listing for Alamo Heights is small: 4.9 stars from 39 reviews, 37 of them five-star and 2 four-star at the 2026-08-07 recheck. The listing’s category is fertility clinic, its amenities include a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking and restroom, and it accepts debit cards, credit cards and NFC mobile payments. Appointment is recommended rather than walk-in.

Accreditations & Awards

  • SART member clinic, recorded for Aspire’s San Antonio entity in the CDC clinic tables and on SART’s clinic search. The registration is the group’s: ClinicPKID 2411, SART number 0717, registered at 150 E Sonterra Blvd - not at this address.
  • Clinic lab accreditation marked “Yes” in the CDC fertility clinic data for the San Antonio entity. Our sources do not name the accrediting body, so we report the flag and stop there.
  • Newsweek “America’s Best Fertility Clinics 2026”: Aspire Fertility - San Antonio at 63. This is a brand-level placement for the San Antonio operations, not an award to the Alamo Heights office.
  • Castle Connolly Top Doctors recognition of Aspire San Antonio providers, claimed on the network’s own pages. Network-level, and not broken down by office in our sources.
  • Google rating 4.9 stars, 39 reviews on the Alamo Heights listing. Thirty-nine reviews makes a thin base; treat the score as one listing at one address, not as a verdict on the clinic.
  • No per-address certifications exist for satellite offices. Neither SART nor CDC in our sources publishes a separate record for Alamo Heights, which is why every credential above is group-level.

Why Choose Aspire Fertility - Alamo Heights

  • Providers named on the address page, with a caveat. Four names sit under Alamo Heights on Aspire’s site. Patient reviews on the same listing also name Dr Kostroun alongside Dr Failor, Dr Knudtson and Cheryl Koone at the front desk and coordination side. Our research dossier flags provider-to-office attribution here as unconfirmed, because the clinic’s site blocks page-level crawling; ask who actually holds your consult at 430 W Sunset when you book.
  • Three open days rather than five. Aspire’s own page for this office lists Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Google listing shows Monday through Friday, 07:30-16:00, weekends closed, and the hours field above reproduces that wider block. Confirm the day before you travel for a visit.
  • One phone line across the San Antonio offices. Aspire prints (210) 337-8453 for all three addresses on this page, so booking, rescheduling and moving a visit between offices runs through a single number instead of three front desks.
  • Step-free access and card payments at this location. The listing records a wheelchair-accessible entrance, accessible parking and an accessible restroom, plus debit, credit and NFC mobile payment - small things that matter when you are making repeated short visits.
  • Group service menu, satellite-scale footprint. Alamo Heights draws on the network’s San Antonio service list (IVF, IUI, egg freezing, donor egg cycles, gestational surrogacy, PGT-A and PGT-M, male fertility services, fertility surgery, fertility preservation) rather than a limited set of only-office visits.
  • The lab is elsewhere, and we say so. Our sources place the group’s IVF laboratory at Stone Oak. Nothing in our dossier documents egg retrieval or embryo work at Alamo Heights, so plan on traveling for those steps and confirm the split when you schedule.

IVF & Fertility Services

From Aspire’s San Antonio service text, the network offers fertility testing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI), egg freezing, donor egg cycles, gestational surrogacy, LGBTQ+ family building, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A and PGT-M), male fertility services, fertility surgery, and fertility preservation for patients facing cancer treatment or other gonadotoxic therapy. Mapped to what you would actually book:

  • IVF - stimulation, monitoring, retrieval and transfer as the core program
  • IUI - insemination as a first-line treatment where testing supports it
  • Egg freezing - oocyte cryopreservation, elective or before medical treatment
  • Fertility preservation - banking eggs, embryos or sperm before treatment that threatens fertility
  • PGT-A and PGT-M - chromosome screening and single-gene testing on embryos
  • Donor egg cycles - the network runs donor recruitment and “Using Donor Eggs” information pages
  • Gestational carrier care - surrogacy cycles coordinated with the carrier’s own team
  • Male fertility services - evaluation and coordination when the male side needs treatment
  • Fertility surgery - operative evaluation when uterine or tubal pathology is suspected
  • LGBTQ+ family building and single-patient family building - both sit in this clinic’s service tags; the network’s own text says it serves individuals and couples
  • ICSI - appears in this clinic’s recorded service tags; the network’s summary text does not name it separately

The CDC service table for the San Antonio entity marks donor egg services, donated embryo services, embryo cryopreservation, egg cryopreservation and gestational carrier as available. Whether each of these is performed at Alamo Heights or at the Stone Oak lab is not documented in our sources.

Fees & Packages

There is no published price list. Aspire maintains a “Fertility Costs” page on the network site, but our research pass could not open it: the whole domain, including robots.txt and sitemap, sat behind a Cloudflare challenge on 2026-08-07, so we quote no figure from it and will not estimate one. Our sources also do not say what a cycle fee includes at this address, which items bill separately (medications, ICSI, PGT biopsy and screening, freezing and storage, donor coordination, anesthesia), whether installment financing exists, or how insurance is handled. What is documented is how to pay once you are billed: the listing accepts debit cards, credit cards and NFC mobile payments. Ask for a written quote that separates the cycle fee from medication, testing, freezing and storage before you start, and confirm which of the three offices each billed visit belongs to.

Patient Journey

  1. Request a consult. Use Aspire’s shared San Antonio appointments page or call (210) 337-8453; the clinic’s location page invites you to call with questions or to book. The listing notes that an appointment is recommended.
  2. Choose the office for your first visit. If you book Alamo Heights, expect a Monday, Wednesday or Friday slot between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with one of the providers named for that address.
  3. Work-up. Fertility testing is the first item on Aspire’s own service list. Our sources do not itemize which hormones, scans or semen studies are ordered, or how long results take, so ask for the plan in writing.
  4. Treatment plan. The physician proposes a path from the menu above - IUI, IVF, freezing, donor egg, PGT - and you confirm which visits happen at Alamo Heights and which at the Stone Oak address that holds the IVF lab.
  5. Cycle steps and follow-up. Our dossier documents no monitoring schedule, no wait time between steps, and no same-day access commitment for this office; the clinic publishes none of these numbers either. Get the visit calendar from your care team at the consult.

Our research dossier for this clinic records two regulatory facts and no Texas statute. First, assisted reproduction in Texas operates under federal FDA and CDC oversight. Second, Aspire’s San Antonio entity is a SART member clinic and reports its ART cycle data to CDC, which is how the figures on this page are public and checkable. Because our sources quote no state provision, we print no statute numbers here, and we will not borrow legal language from Aspire’s Texas pages in other cities - their research dossier is a different file with different findings. Our silence on donor compensation, gestational carrier agreements, embryo disposition and parentage is a documentation gap, not a statement that Texas leaves these unregulated or fully open.

Practically, that means the paperwork you sign is what governs your cycle. Before any transfer, read and ask about: consent forms covering embryo creation, storage fees, and what happens to unused embryos if you stop paying or cannot be reached (the network’s footer publishes an Unclaimed Tissue Policy); donor agreements for egg, sperm or donated embryos; the gestational carrier agreement, whose enforceability depends on state requirements and on a court order in the right sequence; and the parentage route for a same-sex or single-intended-parent pathway. If your plan involves donors, a carrier, or interstate movement of gametes or embryos, have a Texas family-law attorney review your contracts before medication starts. Insurance language is a separate issue: our sources record nothing about what Texas plans must cover for this clinic, so read your own policy’s fertility clauses.

This fertility clinic is great! We went through a few losses, but if it weren’t for the hard work and great staff and doctor we wouldn’t be graduating onto our OBGYN! Love them!

Dr Kostroun was very informative during our consultation. She was empathetic to my past experiences with loss and took the time to answer all of our questions. She made me feel very comfortable during the sonogram. I know she’ll be a great fit for us moving forward! Highly recommend.

HSG -0 pain I really appreciate this facility and what they do to help patients. If I could do it again, I would recommend not using the restroom before you get there because they ask you to pee in a cup. Excellent. Really happy. I did take ibuprofen x4 and Tylenol x2, also took 3 anti anxiety gummies from OLLY. I brought pads, wipes, antibacterial wipes, and a self heating pad for after. I hope this helps someone 💜. Everyone’s journey is different, you can do this
