Oak Clinic Sumiyoshi — Osaka IVF & Fertility Center
About Oak Clinic Sumiyoshi
Oak Clinic Sumiyoshi opened in 2000 in Osaka’s Nishinari ward as the founding clinic of Medical Corporation Oak (Oak Clinic Group). The group has since grown into one of Japan’s better-known reproductive-medicine networks, adding an Umeda branch in Osaka (2012) and the Ginza branch in Tokyo (2016); its Namba clinic closed in August 2020. Across the group, 15 physicians are listed as full-time or part-time staff (source: official group staff directory, 2026).
The clinic sits a short walk from Tamaguchi Station and runs late weekday clinics until 19:00 plus Saturday morning sessions, a schedule designed so working patients can keep stimulation monitoring appointments without taking time off.
Oak Clinic Sumiyoshi does not publish age-specific clinical pregnancy rates. Japanese ART clinics are not required by the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (JSOG) to disclose success-rate data, and none appears on the clinic’s website (as of the 2026 site review).

Local Legal Framework
IVF, ICSI and PGT-A are legal and widely practiced in Japan under the ethics guidelines of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (JSOG). Since April 2022, mainstream infertility treatments are covered by national health insurance for eligible patients, while PGT-A remains self-pay and restricted to defined indications. Egg donation and commercial surrogacy are prohibited; the legal status of embryos is not defined by Japanese law. Foreign patients generally need to document a current marital partnership (JSOG rules apply to individual clinics).
