Local Legal Framework
Assisted reproduction in Thailand is governed by the Protection of the Child Born by Assisted Reproductive Technology Act B.E. 2558 (2015). ART services may only be provided by licensed facilities, and the framework addresses treatment for legally married couples with written informed consent; commercial surrogacy is illegal, and the sale of gametes or embryos is prohibited. The hospital does not publicly disclose an ART-specific licence number — it publishes hospital-level AACI and Thai HA accreditation instead — so confirm licensing details directly with the center during consultation.
Two further points follow from the same framework. The center’s double-washing sperm service for men carrying hepatitis or HIV is offered as a legitimate treatment direction, but HIV-related reproduction in Thailand additionally requires ethics-committee and central-regulator (CFRAM) approval, which the hospital does not describe in detail. And Thai law contains no specific provision granting same-sex spouses joint ART rights; the hospital’s LUV Holistic Clinic listed on its center directory is unrelated to assisted reproduction and should not be read as such a statement.
