Dr. James A. Grifo is the Program Director of NYU Langone Fertility Center and a global pioneer in reproductive medicine. In 1992 he performed the first embryo biopsy resulting in a live birth in the United States, pioneering PGD/PGT clinical application. His team developed the NYU Vitrification Method for egg freezing, in use since 2004. A past president of SART, he earned MD and PhD degrees at Case Western Reserve, completed residency at Cornell, and fellowship at Yale.
