BNH Hospital — Bangkok IVF & Fertility Center
About BNH Hospital
BNH Hospital began in 1898 as a small nursing home founded by the British community in Bangkok under the royal patronage of King Rama V (Chulalongkorn), and is recognized as the first international private hospital in the Kingdom of Siam. In 1901, King Rama VI granted the non-profit BNH Association a royal charter and funding to extend care to Thai patients. The hospital has operated continuously for more than 128 years through six reigns of the Thai monarchy (source: BNH Hospital official website).
Today BNH is a member of BDMS (Bangkok Dusit Medical Services), Thailand’s largest listed private healthcare group, which holds a 91.5% stake. The current hospital complex opened in 1996 on a two-acre, garden-like site on Convent Road between Silom and Sathorn roads. According to BDMS’s 2025 investor report, BNH operates 115 inpatient beds and 29 specialty centers, while the BDMS group performed approximately 14,900 assisted reproduction cycles in the same year.
Fertility care is delivered through the Women’s Health Centre on Floor 1, where an in-house coordination team with more than 15 years of experience manages infertility patients (source: BNH IVF program page). As a general hospital rather than a standalone fertility clinic, BNH can draw on ICU, laboratory, anesthesia and surgical departments when complex cases require it. BNH does not publish age-specific IVF success rates on its current website.

- Preparation — blood tests and infectious screening for both partners, hormone testing (E2, LH, FSH, PRL on cycle day 2), transvaginal ultrasound, AMH, and semen analysis including DNA fragmentation
- Ovarian stimulation — about 8 days of gonadotropins, GnRH-antagonist injections, trigger shot, and 2-3 monitoring scans
- Laboratory — egg retrieval and embryo culture to blastocyst; PGT by NGS priced per embryo batch (1-4, 5-8, or more than 8 embryos)
- Embryo transfer — fresh (ET) or frozen (FET) transfer plus luteal support medication
- Additional procedures — surgical sperm retrieval, hysteroscopy or laparoscopic surgery when medically indicated
Embryo and sperm cryopreservation are billed as annual storage fees. Initial assessment and cost estimation are offered free of charge; the hospital accepts credit cards and NFC mobile payment. Contact the Women’s Health Centre for current pricing in Thai baht and US dollars.

Local Legal Framework
Assisted reproduction in Thailand is governed by the Protection of Children Born from Assisted Reproductive Technologies Act B.E. 2558 (2015). PGT genetic screening is legal and widely performed. Egg donation is permitted only through licensed reproductive centres with written informed consent and without commercial trading. Surrogacy is restricted to non-commercial arrangements between relatives with at least one Thai-registered spouse; commercial surrogacy is prohibited and is not available to international patients. All BNH treatment protocols operate within this legal framework.
